The State Independent Electoral Commission, GOSIEC, made the announcement on Saturday in Gombe, the state capital. According to GOSIEC, six political parties fielded candidates for the chairmanship elections. The parties include the APC; Youth Party, YP and the National Rescue Movement, NRM. According to the Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission, the ruling party secured all 24 chairmanship seats and all 240 councillorship positions up for grabs. The victory covers the state’s 11 local government areas as well as the 13 newly created Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs). POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the election was conducted across 114 wards and 2,988 polling units in the state.
