The All Progressives Congress (APC) won all 11 Local Government Chairmanship seats, all 240 Councillorship positions, and all 13 Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Chairmanship seats in Gombe State. The Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC) conducted the elections across 114 wards and 2,988 polling units. Six political parties fielded candidates in the chairmanship elections. Tribuneonlineng.com reported that the 13 LCDAs were established by an Act of the Gombe State House of Assembly under Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s administration. Tribuneonlineng.com also reported that the APC was the only party to field candidates in all 11 LGAs, 13 LCDAs, and all 240 councillorship wards. Leadership.ng reported that the African Action Congress (AAC) fielded chairmanship candidates in only three councils and the Democratic Liberation Alliance (DLA) contested in six councils. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Action Democratic Party (ADC) did not participate in the elections. The elections were conducted without major security issues.
