THE Executive Chairman of Roost Foundation and former Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, Dame Julie Donli, has condemned the brutal assault of a 10-year-old boy in Anambra.
Donli said the incident was cruel, inhuman and unacceptable, urging authorities to ensure justice for the victim and strengthen protection for vulnerable children.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the boy, whose identity was withheld, was allegedly assaulted by his guardians in Awada, Obosi, in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra.
The Anambra State Government said the child was currently receiving treatment and protection under its care following the incident.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Esther Onyekesi, disclosed this while briefing journalists in Awka on Monday.

The Executive Chairman of Roost Foundation and former Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Dame Julie Donli, has condemned the brutal assault of a 10-year-old boy in Anambra.
Donli condemned the incident as cruel, inhuman and unacceptable, calling for justice for the victim and stronger protection for vulnerable children.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the boy, whose identity was withheld, was allegedly assaulted by his guardians in Awada, Obosi, in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra.

The Anambra Government has confirmed that the 10-year-old boy, who was brutally assaulted by his guardians in Awada, Obosi, in Idemili North Local Government Area of the state, is currently receiving medical treatment under state protection.
The state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Esther Onyekesi, made this known to newsmen in Awka on Monday.
“I want to thank the good caring people of Anambra for bringing this case to our notice.
“The boy is receiving treatment now. My team and Obosi community woman leader visited him.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that a viral video of the minor was seen on social media with a scalded body, showing injuries on all parts of his body, allegedly inflicted on him by his guardian, a woman and her husband.
