The incident reportedly occurred around 10 p.m. when a group of recruits from the Nigerian Army Depot located near the university allegedly stormed private hostels in the Shasha area of Oke-Baale, Osogbo. According to accounts obtained by The Nation, the recruits, who were reportedly dressed in military uniforms, invaded the hostels and allegedly assaulted residents. A student identified only as Kenny told our correspondent that some of the recruits scaled the fence of her hostel before forcing their way into the building.
