According to The Hindu, the Tamil Nadu government revised its cooperative crop loan waiver, raising the ceiling to ₹75,000 and extending the benefit to all farmers. The revised announcement specified that 8,33,773 marginal farmers would receive waivers totaling ₹3,599.67 crore, 5,16,183 small farmers would receive ₹1,995.42 crore, and 93,548 large farmers would receive ₹337.15 crore.

IndianCooperative.com reported that a large share of crop loans issued through Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) in Tamil Nadu’s Erode district is directed to small and marginal farmers. More than 90 percent of crop loans disbursed through PACS in the district during the last four years went to these groups, and in the 2024‑25 fiscal year loans worth Rs 1,308.63 crore were issued through PACS, with Rs 1,190.70 crore (about 92 percent) extended to small and marginal farmers. In the Gobichettipalayam and Bhavani areas, the share of crop loans to small and marginal farmers ranged between 94 percent and 98 percent during the same period.

IndianCooperative.com also noted that farmers’ applications for crop loans under the Kisan Credit Card scheme are generally processed within seven days after submission of required documents, and that farmers are informed about interest subvention benefits through financial literacy camps conducted by NABARD and through PA.
