According to a report by Al-Monitor, Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar party has surpassed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud in the polls. In a separate poll, JFeed.com projected Likud to win 23 seats, describing it as the party’s lowest result in months.

Accounts differ on the relative position of Yashar and Likud. Mideast_ind reported that the Yashar party has overtaken Likud, whereas an unnamed source projected Yashar to receive 21 seats, placing it behind Likud. The same Mideast_ind source indicated that Yashar is ahead of Likud, while another source suggested that Eisenkot is two seats behind Likud.

A further contested point notes that Mideast_ind says Yashar is ahead of Likud, while a different source (identified as “other”) reported Likud’s projection of 23 seats, which would be higher than Yashar’s 21 seats.

Al-Monitor also described Eisenkot as Netanyahu’s main opponent.

Times of Israel reported that Zionist opposition parties are projected to win 62 seats, enough to form a government, but they would fall short of a majority if all Arab factions run on a joint slate.
