A new Kan News mandate poll shows a dramatic shift in the political map, with Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar party becoming the largest
party
in the anti-
Netanyahu
bloc for the first time.
According to the poll, Yashar rises to 21 seats, overtaking
Naftali Bennett
’s Beyachad party, which falls sharply to 17 seats. Eisenkot now holds a four-seat lead over Bennett and is only two seats behind Likud.
The result marks a major reversal after months in which Bennett had led the opposition camp by a wide margin. Eisenkot records his strongest result so far in Kan News polling, while Bennett posts his weakest showing since announcing his return to political life.
The poll also shows weakness inside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s camp. Likud drops to 23 seats, its lowest result in months in the channel’s surveys. The current coalition bloc falls by another seat and now stands at just 52 mandates.
The full poll gives Likud, led by Netanyahu, 23 seats; Yashar, led by Eisenkot, 21; Beyachad, led by Bennett, 17; Yisrael Beytenu, led by Avigdor Liberman, 10; the Democrats, le…

Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar! party continued to gain ground in a new Channel 12 News poll, while the former Israel Defense Forces (IDF) chief of staff overtook Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the candidate viewed by respondents as most suitable to serve as prime minister.
Eisenkot’s gains were also reflected in the survey’s question regarding suitability for prime minister. In a direct comparison with Netanyahu, Eisenkot received 38% support, compared with 35% for the prime minister.
In other matchups, Netanyahu led Bennett by 38% to 31% and held a 36% to 24% advantage over Avigdor Liberman.
Among opposition voters, Eisenkot was preferred over Bennett by a margin of 46% to…

What's the story
Israel
's Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu
could be facing a major political setback as new polls indicate that an alliance of Zionist parties not in alliance with Netanyahu's Likud party could secure a majority if elections were held now.
The poll, published by
The Times of Israel
's sister site
Zman Yisrael
on Thursday, shows the anti-Netanyahu bloc winning 62 seats in the Knesset.
This bloc includes Benny Gantz's Blue and White party, which is projected to win four seats.
Election forecast
Arab parties expected to secure 8 seats
The poll also predicts that Netanyahu's bloc will win 50 seats in the Knesset.
Two Arab parties, Ra'am and Hadash-Ta'al, are expected to secure eight seats in the 120-member legislature.
The results indicate a growing political clout of the alliance against Netanyahu.
Notably, Israel is required to hold elections by October 27 but could conduct them sooner if a bill to dissolve parliament is passed.

A new poll shows the bloc of Zionist parties opposed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu winning a governing majority on its own for the first time, a major shift in the political landscape ahead of elections that must be held by late October.
The survey, published Thursday by Zman Yisrael, a sister site of The Times of Israel, gives the anti-Netanyahu Zionist bloc 62 seats in the 120-member Knesset, one more than the 61 needed to form a government. The pro-Netanyahu bloc wins 50 seats, with the two mainly Arab parties, Ra’am and Hadash-Ta’al, taking the remaining 8.
Previous surveys consistently showed the opposition falling short of 60 seats without the backing of Arab parties. That gap had been the central math problem for opposition leaders, who have pledged to form a “Zionist government” without relying on Arab parties for a coalition majority.
Bennett has emphasized his intention to form a “Zionist government” that does not rely on Arab party support, a position that had left his bloc’s path to power dependent on peeling off coalition parties or pushing rivals below the electoral threshold.

(JNS) Opposition parties in the Knesset met on Saturday to unite as a single bloc for the next election against the government coalition led by Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu
. Elections must be held by Oct. 27, 2026.
The question is: Can a unified opposition succeed in bringing down the Netanyahu coalition?
Polls don’t point to a clear victor. A Nov. 7
Maariv
poll found the opposition leading, but a Nov. 6
Channel 14
poll and an Oct. 23
Zman Yisrael
poll put the coalition on top.

Among all Israeli politicians, Gadi Eisenkot has seen the most momentum in recent weeks.
His Yashar! party has rocketed up recent polls, overtaking Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid’s Together party, and even come into striking distance of Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party, which is mired in internal discussions over its slate of candidates while suffering from general
dissatisfaction
with the security situation, particularly the
U.S.-Iran deal
.
Meanwhile, the elections currently appear most likely to be held on their scheduled date at the end of October, after initiatives to move them up have been
averted for now
.
Channel 13
’s most recent poll sees
Yashar
as the largest opposition party with 20 seats, beating out Together, which fell to 17 seats. The Likud would still be the largest party with 22 seats, though Netanyahu’s bloc would only receive 51 mandates, ten short of the necessary majority.
In this poll, The Democrats and Yisrael Beytenu received eleven seats, the ultra-Orthodo…

A new poll published Thursday by The Times of Israel’s sister site, Zman Yisrael, showed the bloc of Zionist parties not aligned with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could muster enough seats for a majority on their own if elections were held today, a first for a major survey in recent months.
A separate poll aired by Israel’s Channel 12 News showed Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the new Yashar party, was preferred over Netanyahu as prime minister for the first time. That survey however did not have any bloc gaining a 61-seat Knesset majority needed to form a government.
According to the Zman poll, the 500 survey respondents gave the anti-Netanyahu Zionist bloc 62 seats, including Benny Gantz’s Blue and White, which would squeeze into the Knesset with four seats.
Parties aligned with Netanyahu won 50 seats in the survey, with the two mainly Arab parties, Ra’am and Hadash-Ta’al, having won the remaining eight seats in the 120-member Knesset.
Israel must hold elections by October 27, but may do so a little earlier, with a bill to dissolve parliament and move up voting day currently advancing in the Knesset.

MK Naama Lazimi called for a criminal investigation into Likud MK Nissim Vaturi, accusing him of incitement after he said she would fit in Hamas elections.
“Elections are not a civil war,” Herzog said. “Elections are a social, democratic and political process, very significant and important in the life of a nation.”
The results are the first in which Likud fell below Eisenkot's Yashar, following weeks of a tie between the two parties.
"Israel stands at the forefront against the terrorism threatening the entire world. Around the world, Israeli innovations and inventions bring blessings to billions of people every day," he said.
Speaking at the Israel Hayom Conference, Livne said his committee is aiming to hold "the most transparent elections ever," even as he argued that large-scale election fraud is “impossible” in Israel.
Meanwhile, the poll found that the Bennett-Lapid Together Party stopped its slide, stabilizing at 20 seats, and Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar! Party fell one seat, also to 20.
