The closure, in an announcement signed by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, will be carried out in two phases. The first phase will hold on Wednesday, 17th June, 2026, from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., while the second phase is scheduled for Sunday, 21st June, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During these periods, the entire section of Iddo Bridge in Ijora, Apapa Local Government Area, will be closed to vehicular movement to ensure the safe installation of steel beams. To ease traffic congestion, the government advised motorists to use alternative routes. Motorists traveling from Oyingbo/Yaba to Ijora Olopa, Apapa, and Costain are advised to use Funsho Williams Avenue to continue their journeys.
