A toddler remains missing after she and her stray pet dog disappeared on June 6 from a sprawling palm oil plantation in Andhra Pradesh. The dog returned three days later, but there is still no sign of the toddler.
According to police, the dog appears distressed and has not eaten since returning. Drones and an anti-Maoist combing platoon have been deployed to track down the girl, and the police have even fitted the dog with a GPS tracker in the hope that it might lead them to the child, but without success so far, officials said.
“On Friday, we fitted a GPS tracker on the dog and left it alone for a while. It started walking in the direction which the girl and the dog went a few days back but then its behaviour changed and it is acting abnormally and is becoming aggressive. We could not get any clues,’’ said Deputy SP (Peddapuram) A G Tilak, who is leading the search.
He said a 10-member special police team previously involved in anti-Maoist combing operations, more than 200 police personnel, police canines and drones have been deployed in the search. Nearly a week after the girl went missing, hopes of find…

Missing Girl Case in Tuni: Pet Dog Emerges as Key Clue

ijayawada:
A breakthrough has emerged in the case of a two-year-old girl, Gnaneshwari, who went missing from CH Agraharam in Dondavaka panchayat of Tuni mandal in Kakinada district, with the family's pet dog becoming a crucial lead.

The dog, which had gone missing along with the child last Saturday, reappeared briefly near a garden area on Tuesday afternoon. However, it fled after noticing the presence of police personnel and the child's family members gathered at the spot.
Police believe the dog could provide vital clues to trace the missing child. Though efforts to catch it initially failed, a group of youths from Uttar Pradesh managed to capture the animal.
Officials noted that the dog is currently behaving unusually, and efforts are underway to stabilise its condition. Police are considering fitting a GPS tracker on the dog and releasing it to trace its movements, hoping it may lead them to the child's whereabouts, possibly in nearby hill or plantation areas.

Mysuru: The search for a 15-year-old student from Palakkad, who went missing during a family holiday in Chikkamagaluru, has entered its third day without success. Sreenanda, daughter of Ramesh and Rohini from Kadampazhipuram in Palakkad, disappeared on Tuesday evening.
Extensive search operations continued through Thursday at the Manikyadhara Falls and Baba Budan Giri hills, where she was last seen. Authorities deployed thermal drones to scan depths of up to 300 feet in the Baba Budan hills, yet no trace of the teenager has been found.
Sreenanda was with her parents until 5.20 pm on Tuesday; however, she vanished from the tour group within a mere four-minute window. Suspecting that their daughter may have been abducted, her parents filed a formal complaint with the Chikmagalur North Police on Thursday, urging immediate action. Sreenanda was part of a large travel group consisting of approximately 40 family members.
