The Supreme Judicial Council has dismissed a misconduct complaint filed against Justice Muhammad Asif Reki following the fatal road accident involving his teenage son, Abuzar, which claimed the lives of two young women in Islamabad last December.
The complaint, submitted by Colonel (Retd) Inam-ur-Rahim Advocate, accused the Islamabad High Court (IHC) judge of allegedly using his influence after the December 2025 accident at Islamabad’s Secretariat Chowk, where his 16-year-old son allegedly struck two girls riding a scooter, killing them on the spot.
The petition sought an inquiry into the judge’s conduct under Article 209 of the Constitution and requested his removal from office over alleged misconduct.
According to reports, the complainant alleged that Justice Asif misused state machinery to pressure the victims’ families into reaching a compromise and questioned the manner in which bail was granted to his son.
The petition also claimed the judge failed to provide timely assistance to one of the victims after the crash.
However, the Supreme Judicial Council has now dismissed the complaint, effectively …

ISLAMABAD:Advocate Imaan Zainab Mazari-Hazir on Tuesday approached the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) against Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar, after the court administration stripped Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz of her authority to entertain harassment complaints soon after she took cognizance of Mazari’s complaint against him.
Last week, Justice Dogar had warned Mazari of a contempt of court case and reportedly made remarks along the lines of “getting a hold of her.” His conduct drew condemnation from multiple lawyers’ bodies, which demanded his dismissal as IHC chief justice. Following this, Mazari filed a complaint before the IHC’s workplace harassment committee and submitted a misconduct reference against him before the SJC.
After Justice Imtiaz took up her complaint, the IHC administration de-notified her as the “competent authority” and replaced her with Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas, effectively removing her powers to hear harassment cases.
In a post on X, Mazari said she had filed an addendum to her original SJC complaint foll…
