The administration of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva would like to play the role of a mediator in the negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, since US efforts to end it have not yielded concrete results so far. This was reported by the Brazilian newspaper O Globo, citing sources in the government of the South American republic.
In their opinion, Lula da Silva's upcoming visit to Moscow to participate in the Victory Day celebrations should demonstrate the independence of Brazil's foreign policy.
