LAHORE:Two foreign women have alleged that they were kidnapped, held captive for several days, physically assaulted, sexually abused and forced to transfer thousands of dollars in cryptocurrency after being lured to Lahore under the pretext of a business meeting, according to statements recorded before a judicial magistrate.
The testimonies, recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) at the Cantonment Courts on Thursday, form part of an investigation into a criminal case registered at Defence C Police Station.

LAHORE: The investigation into the alleged rape of two foreign women in Lahore has taken a new turn, with investigators examining a possible cryptocurrency dispute as part of the case.
According to sources familiar with the investigation, the foreign nationals and the prime suspect, identified as Raza Dar, were reportedly involved in a financial dispute related to cryptocurrency.
Investigators claim the suspect was due to receive approximately US$1.5 million from the women, an amount estimated at around Rs450 million.

<p>LAHORE: Police in the provincial capital on Thursday registered a case against five suspects on charges of kidnapping for ransom and sexually assaulting two foreign women.</p>
<p>The Police Emergency Helpline 15 received a call from Spain, made by the father of one of the women, reporting the incident.</p>
<p>The alleged victims, who are nationals of the Netherlands and Venezuela, had come to Pakistan to visit their ‘friends’.</p>
<p>DIG Faisal Kamran told <em>Dawn</em> that police acted accordingly, dispatched a team of senior officials, recovered the women, arrested four suspects and lodged an FIR.</p>
<p>He said the suspects had been tracked and apprehended with the help of the Punjab Safe City Authority’s cameras installed in the city.</p>

<p>LAHORE: A judicial magistrate on Wednesday granted police custody of four suspects, including the relative of a senior political figure, for another five days in the alleged abduction and rape case involving two foreign women.</p>
<p>The suspects were produced before the magistrate at the Cantonment Courts following the expiry of the five-day physical <a href="https://www.dawn.com/news/2012674/lahore-police-get-custody-of-4-suspects-arrested-for-alleged-abduction-sexual-assault-of-two-foreign-women">remand</a> granted earlier.</p>
<p>During the hearing, the prosecution sought an extension of the remand, informing the court that the suspects’ DNA and fingerprint tests had been conducted.</p>
<p>A prosecutor told the court that the police still needed to recover the vehicle allegedly used in the crime, along with a laptop, cash and weapons believed to be linked to the case.</p>
<p>Advocate Salman Shahid, the counsel for two of the suspects, opposed the request for further physical remand, arguing that his clients had no connection with the alleged offences.</p>
