Prime Minister Narendra Modi greets the gathering during the NDA conclave of ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders, held to mark the completion of 12 years of the NDA government and PM Modi becoming India's longest-serving elected prime minister, in New Delhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the NDA government's 12-year record of development and economic growth demonstrated the value of political stability, while questioning why similar achievements did not materialise during decades of Congress rule.
Addressing leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Modi said the coalition's record demonstrated the value of political stability and credited successive NDA governments for steering India through challenges ranging from the Covid-19 pandemic to an uncertain global economic environment.

New Delhi:
The most memorable moment of all my interactions with former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who passed away Thursday at the age of 92, will be the flight Air India One from Riyadh to New Delhi way back in 2010. As was the norm those days, the Prime Minister held a press conference on board the flight to talk about the visit to Saudi Arabia. The return of our entourage coincided with the Indian festival of colours Holi. Soon after the press conference, I walked up to him and said, “Happy Holi, Sir.” He placed his right palm on my head and said with his soft voice, “God bless, son.”
That visit to Saudi Arabia was important from New Delhi’s foreign policy perspective. It was during that visit that the ‘Riyadh Declaration – A New Era of Strategic Partnership’ was released. The Riyadh Declaration further ce…

Manmohan Singh's foreign policy vision: A lasting impact on India
New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh breathed his last on Thursday evening at Delhi-based All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS). Singh rose to become the country’s 13th prime minister in 2004 after the Congress party ousted BJP-led NDA government under Atal Behari Vajpayee.
In his 33 years of service to the nation, Dr Manmohan Singh will not be only known for pulling India out of brink of bankruptcy, opening the doors for the foreign investment and eliminating the permit or licence raj, but he will also be known for shaping India’s external relations that the next generation will surely be reaping.
Despite being born in Pakistan (undivided India), Manmohan Singh never visited to the country even after being in power for 10 years.
Let’s analyse his legacy in the field of foreign policy:---
After the successful nuclear exploration at Pokhran in 1974 and 1998 under the Indira Gandhi and the Vajpayee government, respectively, India was isolated from the world trade by the nuclear suppliers group that include the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Canada among others.
In 2004, Manmohan…

Twelve Years That Changed India: Assessing the Modi Era
Twelve Years That Changed India: Assessing the Modi Era
June 9 marks 12 years of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. A day later, on June 10, Narendra Modicompletes 4,399 daysas Prime Minister, becoming India’s longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister, surpassing Jawaharlal Nehru’s record.
Milestones are largely symbolic, though, and what ultimately matters is whether a government leaves the country materially different from the one it inherited. By that measure, the Modi era has already secured a place as the most consequential period in independent India’s history.
There is perhaps no major parameter of governance and politics on which the needle has not moved significantly.
On internal security, Naxalism, once described as India’s greatest internal security challenge, has been defanged. Terrorism driven by fundamentalists in mainland India has been almost eliminated, especially when compared to the UPA years (2004-14). The recent Operation Sindoor demonstrated something even more significant: Pakistan’s long-standing strategy of using nuclear blackmail as a shield for cross-border terrorism has been decisively challenged.

New Delhi [India], June 10 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday achieved a historic milestone by becoming the country's longest continuously serving elected premier, completing 12 years at the helm of the Central Government. This momentous tenure has witnessed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) transforming into the national political hegemon, consistently expanding its footprint to newer regions and attracting widespread support from myriad communities.
By completing 4,399 days as Prime Minister on Wednesday, PM Modi officially became the longest continuously serving elected premier in India's history. While India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, originally assumed office in 1947 and won the country's first general election in 1951-52, he remained in office until his passing in 1964. Meanwhile, Indira Gandhi, India's first woman Prime Minister, served for a little less than 16 years, but her tenure was spread across two separate stints.
Over the course of the past 12 years, the Central Government has executed landmark governance reforms, infrastructure mega-projects, and decisive security policies.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for India to become a leading power represents a change in how the country’s top political leadership conceives of its role in international politics. In Modi’s vision, a leading power is essentially a great power. However, India will only acquire this status when its economic foundations, its state institutions, and its military capabilities are truly robust. It will take concerted effort to reach this pinnacle.
Complete the structural reforms necessary to create efficient product and factor markets.India has lost too many opportunities to build efficient markets that foster innovation and accelerate long-term trend growth. The government needs to redirect its activities toward producing better public goods, while establishing an institutional framework that stimulates private creativity and increases rationalization across Indian society.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today completed 12 years in office with the ruling BJP lauding his tenure as "glorious".
BJP national president Nitin Nabin led the greetings for the Prime Minister today and said this era, which began on 26 May, 2014, was not merely a change in governance but a historic moment of the nation's reclaimed self-confidence and cultural renaissance under Narendra Modi.
"With the foundational mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas' and the supreme principle of 'Antyodaya' as its guiding light, the government has transformed policies from mere documents into instruments of change in the lives of every individual," said nabin.
The BJP chief said on the one hand, initiatives like Jan Dhan, DBT, and the Digital Revolution had empowered the poorest at the farthest reaches; on the other, the resolve of "Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi" had revitalised the nation's cultural pride alongside modern infrastructure.
"Today's secure and capable India stands fully prepared to safeguard its sovereignty, backed by resolute strikes against terrorism and the rising valor of it…
