A man in his 30s was fatally shot in Ascot Vale, Melbourne, around 12:15am on Sunday. The shooting occurred near the intersection of Mount Alexander Road and North Street. Homicide Squad detectives are leading the investigation. According to police.vic.gov.au, the victim was struck in the lower body, and a person is believed to have shot the victim on Mount Alexander Road before fleeing in a white sedan heading west along North Street, then south along Smithfield Road toward Footscray.
