Pakistan's consumer inflation rate eased to 11.1% in June from 11.7% in May, according to Dawn, which cited data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday. The same report noted a month‑on‑month decline of 0.3 percentage points and attributed the easing mainly to lower prices of energy and essential food items.

Dawn also reported that inflation between July 2025 and June 2026 was recorded at 7.05% versus 4.49% in the corresponding months of the previous year, and that the government projected a revised inflation target of 7.5% for the current fiscal year.

CNBC reported that the annual inflation rate in May 2026 was 4.2%, and that the CPI level in May 2026 was the highest since April 2023, exceeding the 3.8% reading from April. The same outlet noted that inflation climbed above 4% for the first time in three years in May 2026 and that the monthly CPI increase was 0.1 percentage point below the April reading.

CNBC also reported that core CPI (excluding food and energy) accelerated by 0.2% in May 2026 and 2.9% year‑over‑year, while the monthly core CPI gain was below the 0.3% estimate and less than the 0.4% increase recorded in April.
