The National Investigation Agency (NIA) attached House No. 33, Holy City, Holy Enclave Phase-I, Amritsar, as proceeds of terrorism under Section 25(1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The property is linked to Ankush Kapoor, a key operative in India of a transnational narco-terror network with connections across Italy, Australia, Iran, Thailand, the UAE, and Pakistan. The proceeds from the trafficking of narcotic substances were used to finance and support terrorist activities in India through a complex financial network. Ankush Kapoor’s links were revealed with a Dubai-based accused connected with a terrorist organisation designated as proscribed. The property was registered in the name of Kapoor’s father. An NIA team carried out the attachment following due process of law, in the presence of independent witnesses and with the assistance of local authorities.
