North Korea tested a newly developed lightweight multi‑purpose missile launch system and a multiple tactical cruise‑missile weapon system under the supervision of leader Kim Jong Un, according to multiple opposing news blocs.

Bluesky reported that North Korea launched ten ballistic missiles. The Diplomat.com reported that approximately ten short‑range ballistic missiles were launched on 14 March, and Deutsche Welle reported that North Korea tested a mix of tactical ballistic missiles, artillery and precision cruise missiles.

France 24 reported that South Korea’s military said North Korea fired several projectiles, including a ballistic missile that flew about 80 km (50 miles). The Hindu reported that North Korea fired an unidentified projectile, according to South Korea’s military. The Diplomat.com also reported that North Korea fired a volley of ballistic missiles into the sea off its east coast on 14 March, noting it was the country’s third missile launch this year and the first since 27 January.

The Diplomat.com further reported that the missiles flew roughly 350 km (217 miles) before splashing down into the waters between the Korean Peninsula and Japan, and that the launched rockets battered an island target in the East Sea of Korea about 364.4 km away with 100 percent accuracy.
