CorroHealth, a US‑based medical coding and healthcare solutions company, shut down its Kochi and Kozhikode offices in Kerala, leaving employees without jobs. The shutdown affected around 800 workers, according to multiple reports, while another source reported that nearly 900 staff members were terminated without prior notice (keralakaumudi.com).

The Kerala labour department or District Labour Officer initiated conciliation and scheduled a meeting with CorroHealth management. The Kerala High Court also directed the company, employees and the state to attempt conciliation after the closure affected around 800 workers (cnbctv18.com). The layoffs were temporarily halted after intervention by the Kerala state government, with a deadline of July 10.

Employees allege the layoffs were due to dissatisfaction with Kerala’s labour regulations rather than financial losses. CorroHealth cited financial constraints as the reason for closing (keralakaumudi.com). Workers demanded reinstatement or ten months’ salary compensation. Employees who arrived at the office on Monday morning were denied entry because security said the company had instructed staff not to be permitted inside (the Hindu).
