Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko apologized to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to reports from both Russian‑aligned and Ukrainian outlets. Lukashenko also gave an interview to Al Arabiya.

In the Al Arabiya interview, Lukashenko said Belarus poses no military threat to Ukraine (Kyiv Independent). He added that Belarus is very vulnerable militarily (Meduza) and that drawing Belarus into the Russia‑Ukraine war would be unacceptable (Meduza). He further stated that Russia and Ukraine must compromise to end the war (South China Morning Post).

Lukashenko also spoke to Counterpoints at the Independence Palace in Minsk, as reported by Al Arabiya.

Zelensky responded to the apology by saying that no one is offended by words alone (en.apa.az). He gave Lukashenko a one‑week deadline to remove equipment from border regions with Ukraine (en.apa.az) and warned he would act himself if the equipment was not withdrawn within that period (en.apa.az).
