Ridglan Farms, a beagle breeding and research facility in Wisconsin, is shutting down. All remaining dogs from the facility are being transferred to Big Dog Ranch Rescue in Florida. According to WTAE, the number of dogs to be relocated is 475. Lauree Simmons stated, according to the Guardian, that there will be no more breeding, testing, or any other operations at Ridglan Farms. WTMJ.com reported that Simmons also said Ridglan Farms is committing to permanently closing its dog breeding, sales, research, and testing operations. Big Dog Ranch Rescue, according to WTMJ.com, asked the public to refrain from further protests directed at Ridglan Farms, its owners, or its employees. Ridglan Farms was the subject of protests related to animal research.
