Smotrich also withdrew key municipal planning authorities from Hebron's Palestinian administration, as reported by sources including Turkey. He inaugurated a new Israeli settlement in the Hebron district, a fact corroborated by multiple outlets. According to Al Jazeera, Smotrich transferred authority over Hebron to the Israeli army.
