A man was shot in his right thigh following a domestic altercation early Monday morning in the 2700 block of Bermgan Street in Pittsburgh's Sheraden neighborhood. The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition, and a woman found at the scene was taken to police headquarters for questioning. Police found a shell casing at the Sheraden shooting scene and assigned the case to the Violent Crime Unit.

In related local incidents, Greenville police charged Kashawn Lamont Smith, 23, with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury for shooting his girlfriend, Johnetta Earlexia Gatlin, 22, in the leg during a domestic dispute at an apartment on Peed Drive early Monday morning. According to the Reflector, Gatlin was charged with assault inflicting serious injury after striking Smith with brass knuckles prior to the shooting.

Elsewhere, a shooting occurred late Saturday night at the Greater Pittsburgh Aquatic Club on Twin Oaks Drive in Penn Hills, resulting in one person being transported to a hospital. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots at the Penn Hills pool club shooting. Additionally, a fire scorched the bricks on one side of a house on Roland Road in Wilkins on Saturday morning, caused by charcoal from a grill that had not been fully extinguished, according to TribLive.

Due to a heat wave, Pittsburgh is opening five cooling centers from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
