Phaimol (Phimol) village, a Kuki settlement in Kamjong (Majong) district, was set ablaze on July 1, 2026.

Kuki and Naga organisations accused armed groups from each other's communities of torching villages in Kamjong district along the India‑Myanmar border, according to The Hindu. Attackers not identified torched over 20 houses across three villages in Kamjong district, reported by the Times of India. The Times of India also reported that suspected retaliatory attacks were carried out on Tangkhul Naga villages following the arson in Phaimol village, that security forces intervened during the torching of houses in Kamjong district, and that investigations are underway to identify the perpetrators.

Kuki Inpi JTN condemned the attack reported as alleged on Leikot Kuki Village, describing it as a serious threat, and urged the Central and Manipur governments to ensure justice and prevent further violence, according to PowerCorridors.in. Militants suspected to be from NSCN‑IM attacked Leikot Kuki Village in Noney District in the early hours, destroying large parts of the village by fire, and the attack occurred at around 5:00 a.m., both reported by PowerCorridors.in.
