The Liberian Senate Judiciary Committee has presented a seven-month legislative roadmap for the passage of bills establishing war and economic crimes courts. The roadmap schedules a final vote for December 11 to 15, when the committee is expected to deliver its final report and the bill to plenary for debate and action. The plan includes merging rival bills into a single draft by mid-July, during which the committee will review all versions of the bills and consult stakeholders. Senators are expected to use the legislative recess, from July 17 to October 9, to discuss the drafts with their constituents. The roadmap runs from late May through the middle of December.
