The army imposed a curfew on Mughayyir, searched homes and arrested an unspecified number of Palestinians, including the mayor Ameen Abu Alia, the same source said. The siege on al‑Mughayyir followed reports that an Israeli settler had been attacked near the village, Mondoweiss.net added. The Israeli army said the curfew and destruction of the village’s farmland were aimed at capturing the attacker.
