The Pennsylvania State Baseball Coaches Association will host the second edition of the East-West All-Star baseball game at noon Sunday at Penn State’s Medlar Field. Each team consists of 27 senior players nominated by their high school coaches, who are members of the association. The East team is composed of players from Districts 1, 2, 3, 11, and 12; the West team includes players from Districts 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. Last year’s inaugural game was won by the East, 9-2.

Seven players from the WPIAL are on the West roster. Selected West players include infielder Thad Longwell of Moon, first baseman Logan Plummer of Pine-Richland, outfielder/pitcher Kingston Kotec of Hopewell, catcher Max Black of Serra Catholic, first baseman/pitcher Mike Bruckner of Bethel Park, pitcher J.B. Krovak of Elizabeth Forward, and pitcher Guy Longenberger of Southern Columbia.

Selected East players include pitcher Trevor Lugara of North Penn, catcher Chase Jones of North Penn, first baseman Nick Ledger of Hazleton, infielder Silvio Giardina of Pittston Area, outfielder Max Forgione of Dunmore, and designated hitter Travis Jenkins of Governor Mifflin.

According to lvpnews.com, the East roster will be coached by the staff of Sandy Menichetti of Holy Cross HS, Jesse Bortner of Big Springs HS, and tentatively Scott Buffington of Schuylkill Haven HS, with others to be named. The West roster will be led by Mike Myers of Southern Columbia HS, Mike Kramer of Central Mountain HS, Sid Landsberry of Clearfield HS, and Dan Oliastro of Riverside HS.
