Israel issued evacuation warnings for the entire city of Tyre and conducted repeated airstrikes on the city. Thousands of residents fled Tyre on 9 June, with cars loaded with mattresses, luggage, household items, and pets clogging the coastal highway as families moved toward Saida and other areas further north. According to the Guardian, Israel issued forced evacuation orders for the historic Christian quarter of Tyre and struck the al-Masaken neighbourhood without warning on Tuesday morning. A series of bombings also hit Abbasieh, a village north of Tyre.

Eight people were killed in a strike in south Lebanon, according to Western sources. Lebanon’s civil defence reported seven people were killed in an Israeli strike in Tyre, and the Hindu cited the same figure. A discrepancy exists between the reported death tolls of eight and seven in the same location and timeframe.

The Guardian reported that at least 32 people were injured in an Israeli attack on Tyre. Al Jazeera reported that Israeli airstrikes caused widespread destruction in the city. Lebanese state media, as reported by Al Arabiya, said an Israeli airstrike targeted a car near the Lebanese Red Cross building in Tyre.

Al Arabiya reported that Israel intercepted three projectiles fired from Lebanon near the Israel-Lebanon border, with a third projectile falling near IDF soldiers. No injuries were reported from the intercepted projectiles.

Military operations in Tyre resumed after a ceasefire. Evacuations occurred amid concerns about additional strikes and regional conflict. Israel conducted strikes in Lebanon while Iran had issued a threat against such actions.
