US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the war between the United States and Iran. The agreement, known as the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, was finalized on the evening of June 15 and is effective immediately. According to Al Arabiya English, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian shared images of the document on social media, confirming it was identical to the 14-point version first reported by Al Arabiya English. The memorandum was signed digitally on Sunday by US Vice President JD Vance and Iran's chief negotiator Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, with Trump present as a witness, according to Al-Monitor.

The agreement includes a commitment by Iran to dilute its enriched uranium and permits Iran to resume oil sales, according to the Bangkok Post. It also initiates negotiations on sanctions relief and Iran's nuclear program, and aims to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, according to the Times of India. Iran’s Supreme National Security Council stated that the agreement ends war on all fronts, including Lebanon. Pezeshkian described the agreement as historic and said it would end the conflict between the United States and Iran and pave the way for negotiations toward a permanent settlement, according to Al Arabiya English.
