A criminal complaint was filed in a court in Tirupati against actor Prakash Raj by G. Bhanuprakash Reddy, a BJP leader and member of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Trust Board. The complaint alleges that Prakash Raj made statements about Lord Rama, Lakshmana, and the Ramayana that were disrespectful, intended to cause harm, and elicited strong negative emotional responses among the Hindu community. According to indian.community, the complaint further alleges that Prakash Raj equated Lord Rama and Lakshmana’s journey to the South as an 'invasion' from North India to 'Lanka' and promoted the divisive 'Aryan-Dravidian' theory. Separately, Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik, according to siasat.com, demanded a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into Prakash Raj over the Dharmasthala case, alleged that Chinnayya, an accused in a skull-related case, named Prakash Raj as a conspirator, claimed Prakash Raj hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus, and urged police to register a suo motu case against him. Muthalik also accused Congress leaders, Left activists, intellectuals, and sections of minority communities of being part of a planned effort to damage reputation of Hindu religious institutions.
