Nine people were killed and 25 others injured following a collision between a passenger bus and a National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) train at a level crossing in Chiredzi. According to 263chat.com, the accident occurred at around 0700hrs on Tuesday when an NRZ train travelling from Triangle to the Lundi siding collided with the bus at the crossing. Nine passengers died at the scene, including seven adults and two minors, and 25 other passengers were taken to hospital for treatment. Emergency services, including police, ambulance personnel, and the fire brigade, were deployed to the scene. Preliminary investigations indicate that the bus driver failed to observe level crossing regulations.
