Google Calendar has expanded its event color options from a previous limit of 11 predefined colors to up to 200 custom colors for individual events. Users can select from 24 default color options and define additional custom colors using a full RGB color picker on the web or through the Calendar API. The expanded options are available on the native Google Calendar web and mobile apps and the Calendar API. According to androidauthority.com, the rollout began on June 17, 2026, for users on Google’s Rapid Release domains and is available to Google personal account owners, Workspace customers, and Individual subscribers. According to workspaceupdates.googleblog.com, there is no admin control for this feature, and it is enabled by default for end users with the ability to customize.
