The United States struck Iranian coastal radar sites on Saturday and shot down four Iranian drones that were alleged to be targeting ships near the Strait of Hormuz.

Kuwait’s military said its air‑defence systems had intercepted "hostile missile and drone attacks" and, according to Al‑Arabiya, its air defences were intercepting "hostile" missile and drone attacks and an additional wave of Iranian drones attempting to attack US forces in Kuwait failed.

Iran said it hit US‑linked targets (ABC AU) and its Revolutionary Guards said they targeted US military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait after the US launched a wave of military strikes on Iran (Al‑Monitor). Iran also launched several ballistic missiles toward regional neighbours, all of which failed to hit their intended targets (Al‑Arabiya); two Iranian missiles fired at Kuwait fell short or broke apart en route (Al‑Arabiya); and three missiles launched at Bahrain were immediately intercepted by US and Bahrain air‑defence forces (Al‑Arabiya). The US Central Command denied IRGC claims that they had struck the headquarters of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain (Al‑Arabiya). The US military said it successfully defeated Iranian missile and drone attacks in the Gulf (Al‑Arabiya).

A second night of US strikes was launched after a ship was struck by a drone, according to Al Jazeera, which also reported that an Iranian drone allegedly struck a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday. Bahrain reported a drone attack (ABC AU), and an oil tanker was damaged by an "unidentified projectile" in the Strait of Hormuz (ABC AU). Additionally, an Israeli drone reportedly struck an area of southern Lebanon (ABC AU).
