Polish-American relations have a key impact on NATO's security system, especially its eastern flank. The deployed to Poland Armored Brigade Combat Group subunits and supporting elements, including the Combat Aviation Brigade, the installation of a missile defense system in Redzikowo, equipment and ammunition depots under construction in Powidz, or the establishment of the US Army V Corps Forward Command in Poznan are just some examples of the durability of transatlantic alliance ties.
Starting with the NATO Summit in Warsaw, successive Alliance summits have been implementing decisions that are strengthened by bilateral (primarily American) efforts that are key to reinforcing NATO's defense and deterrence capabilities. One of these is the American initiative to strengthen the region - the so-called European Deterrence Initiative (EDI), which has resulted in the deployment of an Armored Brigade Combat Group to Poland and other countries on NATO's eastern flank. This 3,500-strong formation is supported by the Combat Aviation Brigade and logistics and support subunits as part of Operation Atlan…

WARSAW made statement POLAND in Washington, District of Columbia, United States
WARSAW, Poland (AP) — A senior Polish defense official said Wednesday that the United States has expressed interest in potentially establishing a permanent U.S. military base in Poland.
Cezary Tomczyk, Poland’s deputy defense minister, spoke to The Associated Press a day after the Polish government approved steps to allow such a U.S. permanent base in Poland, on NATO’s eastern flank. He said the government’s resolution about the base Tuesday is an invitation to the Americans.
“The Americans are interested in the Polish offer to place a permanent base here,” because it would be financed by both countries, Tomczyk said in an interview at the Defense Ministry in Warsaw.
When asked about the remarks, U.S. Defense Department officials in Washington said they had nothing new to announce.
Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said that Poles are doing everything in their power to have such a permanent base but that “the decision will always be on the side of the Americans.”
