Spencer Pratt seemed to concede the race for Los Angeles mayor in a social media video on Friday, saying that the campaign portion of his efforts to “save” the city were coming to a close.
Mr. Pratt, a Republican who once starred on reality TV, finished third in the primary, receiving about a quarter of the vote. Mayor Karen Bass of Los Angeles and Councilwoman Nithya Raman, both Democrats, will advance to a runoff in November, The Associated Press determined this week.
For days, President Trump had cited Mr. Pratt’s loss as a prime indication of voter fraud in Los Angeles, without offering evidence. Mr. Trump questioned how it was possible for Mr. Pratt to have been in second place in the returns on election night only to slip to third days later. C…

Spencer Prattconceded theLos Angelesmayoral race Friday in a fiery social media video, vowing to continue targeting the city’s political establishment and claiming to possess a recording of one of the two remaining candidates that he says would force her to resign.
Mr. Pratt, a Republican and former star of “The Hills,”finished thirdin the June 2 primary behind incumbent Democratic MayorKaren Bassand city CouncilwomanNithya Raman, who will face each other in the November general election. His strong election-night showing — which initially suggested he would advance to the runoff — was reversed over the following week as mail-in ballots were counted. Ms. Raman now holds a lead of roughly 30,000 votes over Mr. Pratt, a margin of about 3.5 percentage points.
“You think you can get rid of me that easily?” Mr. Pratt said in the video, captioned “Saving LA — Phase III” and posted to his social media accounts. “I didn’t get in this for political power. I got in to expose this corrupt machine, and nothing has changed.”
Mr. Pratt said that, no longer constrained by his candidacy, he would be free to speak witho…

Mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt appears to concede the Los Angeles mayoral race Friday, saying the “campaign portion” of his effort was ending while vowing to continue criticizing the two candidates who advanced to the November runoff.
In a video posted Friday on X, Pratt said he planned to move into what he called the “next more interesting phase” of his effort “to save Los Angeles.”
“I didn’t get in this for political power,” Pratt said. “I got in this to expose this corrupt machine, and nothing has changed.”
The comments marked Pratt’s clearest acknowledgement yet that he will not advance to the general election. Earlier this week,
the Associated Press projected that Councilmember Nithya Raman would face Mayor Karen Bass in the November runoff
after late-counted ballots pushed Raman past Pratt in the race for second place.

Spencer Pratt concedes LA mayoral race with combative message
Ex-reality TV star and MAGA-backed Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt angrily conceded the race Friday in a combative video in which he derided, and appeared to threaten, the women who finished ahead of him.
Nearly four days after The Associated Press projected Councilmember Nithya Raman will advance to the November general election to face incumbent Mayor Karen Bass, Pratt announced that “the campaign portion of my mission to save Los Angeles is coming to a close, and I’m moving on to the next, more interesting phase.”
With 99% of ballots counted as of Friday, the AP put Pratt in third place, with just more than a quarter of the vote — 3.5 percentage points behind Raman and nearly 9 points behind Bass.
Pratt initially stood in second as returns came in on primary night, but his lead over Raman steadily narrowed as mail-in ballots were counted. By Sunday, she had overtaken him by less than 1 percentage point.
President Donald Trump and other MAGA supporters suggested Pratt’s apparent reversal of fortune proved fraud, but elections experts say it is California’s voting system, coupled with the city’s small Repub…
