AP Set to Emerge as National Model in Energy Efficiency
Vijayawada:Andhra Pradesh has adopted one of the country's most comprehensive energy-efficiency partnerships spanning industries, MSMEs, DISCOMs, housing, urban and rural development, Anganwadis, tourism and public infrastructure.
This is positioning itself to be a “national benchmark in sustainable development and climate action.”
Addressing a programme organised by Energy Efficiency Services Ltd, S. Bala Subramanyam, EO secretary to government, said the state's saturation-based implementation strategy has the potential to generate savings worth hundreds of crores annually while significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
During the programme, Subramanyam unveiled a report on Mission LiFE, while EESL officials highlighted 75 actionable lifestyle changes aimed at promoting a greener and more sustainable future.
He said the AP government's extensive collaboration with EESL could emerge as a landmark model for implementing energy-efficiency projects and Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), thereby contributing to India's climate commitments.

Chilakaluripet:Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited an Anganwadi centre in Linganguntla village of Chilakaluripet constituency in Palnadu district on Saturday.
The Chief Minister, who arrived in the village to participate in the Swachh Andhra–Swarna Andhra and Annadata Sukhibhava programmes, first inspected the Anganwadi centre. As part of the state’s Net Zero initiative, the government is distributing induction stoves and utensils to 44,346 Anganwadi centres at a cost of ₹32 crore. During the visit, he handed over an induction stove and steel utensils to the centre.
He also inquired about the stock and supply of essential items at the facility.
