Ross, 28, is charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, eluding law enforcement, theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving and a slew of other offenses. Observing an inoperable license plate light, Monessen police officers pulled over a car traveling east on the city’s Grand Boulevard — in which Ross was one of three passengers — just after midnight on Tuesday, according to a sworn affidavit. Four people — the driver, who owned the car, and three passengers — were sitting in the vehicle. One of the two officers who initiated the traffic stop recognized Ross, who sat in the back seat behind the driver. Officers requested the driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance and asked her to step out of the vehicle. Police asked one of the other passengers to step of out the vehicle and patted him down for officer safety, the affidavit says. MONESSEN, Pa. — Monessen Police Chief David Yuhasz says a 28-year-old man led officers on a chase through two counties after a traffic stop. He now faces over 20 different charges. “He kicked one officer,” Yuhasz said. “That officer deployed a taser and was unsuccessful. The other officer stepped in with a taser, which was deemed unsuccessful.” Officers pulled Joshua Ross’s car over for a traffic stop early Tuesday morning.
