SpaceX IPO: Here's What a $5,000 Investment Could Look Like In 5 Years
One of the most anticipated initial public offerings (IPOs) in market history will soon be here. SpaceX has confidentially filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, and is reportedly targeting a June 2026 listing. The $75 billion that SpaceX hopes to raise in the IPO could value the company at $2 trillion-plus, far higher than any previous public offering. That would instantly place it among the six most valuable publicly traded companies in the world, just shy ofAmazon.
Another unusual aspect of this IPO is that SpaceX could allocate 30% of its shares to retail investors -- at least three times the typical allocation -- yet demand for shares is still likely to exceed supply (making it oversubscribed). So, there is potential to get in on the IPO, but it might be expensive. If you manage to purchase $5,000 inSpaceX stockon Day 1, what might that look like five years from now?

Elon Musk’s SpaceX is once again gaining market attention, but this time for its debt strategy. The company’s bankers are exploring a massive $20 billion bond sale to refinance existing obligations.
Notably, this follows the blockbuster IPO of the firm last week, which has crowned Elon Musk as the first trillionaire in the world. At the same time, SPCX stock has dropped sharply, signaling cautious investor sentiment.
SpaceX is gearing up for a major financial move as it looks to restructure its debt profile. According to a Bloombergreportciting sources familiar with the matter, the company’s banking partners plan to conduct investor discussions as early as next week.
The goal is to assess demand for a potential bond issuance. Notably, the proposed offering could reach up to $20 billion.
As per the update, the funds would primarily refinance a bridge loan that matures in September 2027. This temporary loan forms a large portion of SpaceX’s total long-term debt, which stood at about $29.1 billion as of March-end.
Meanwhile, major financial institutions are expected to lead the deal,…

The comments came after SpaceX shares surged 19% during their first day of trading on Nasdaq, closing at $161 per share. The stock had opened at $150, well above its IPO price of $135, giving the company a market capitalisation of roughly $2.1 trillion and making it one of the most valuable publicly traded firms.

Nothing aboutSpaceX'sinitial public offeringis ordinary. The rocket maker is aiming to raise a record sum, by a wide margin, at a historic valuation, and will be controlled byElon Musk, who's also CEO ofTesla, another trillion-dollar company.
When it comes to the mechanics of the share sale, SpaceX is offering a take-it-or-leave-it price of $135, rather than providing a range and then pricing the deal based on demand, as is customary in IPOs.
But as thestock offeringgets underway on Thursday, certain customs will be familiar to Wall Street. At some point, all of the IPO shares — roughly $75 billion worth — have to get allocated to the underwriters and asset managers so they can reach their clients before trading begins on Friday.
"Elon has dictated the price, and, assuming investors go for it, you can check that box," said Lise Buyer, founder of IPO consultancy Class V Group. "But somebody still has to determine where the shares are going."
In a typical offering, the pricing takes place the evening before the market debut. In the weeks leading up to that point, the issuer, in tandem with the un…

It's time to redefine the technology industry after retail investors flocked to buy SpaceX shares in large numbers on its first trading day on 12 June, while also eagerly awaiting the IPOs of two major AI firms, OpenAI and Anthropic, expected later this year, reflecting the growing influence of AI and new big tech companies.
Data from Vanda Research showed retail investors net purchased $117 million of SpaceX shares on the first trading day, representing 56% of the total retail stock purchases in the U.S. market that day.
According to a Reuters report on Monday, retail investors were allocated about 20% of SpaceX's $75 billion IPO offering, higher than the average IPO allocation, while hedge funds received 10%, and long-term institutional investors held the largest share at 70%.
However, the $117 million net purchase figure from Vanda is separate from direct IPO allocations, as many shares were allocated through various brokerage firms.
Interestingly, this buying frenzy was specific to SpaceX, not a general resurgence of retail investor enthusiasm for individual stocks. In fact, Vanda found that total n…

For nearly two decades, some of the world's most prominent investors quietly accumulated stakes inSpaceXwhile the rocket maker remained largely off-limits to the public markets.
Now, withElon Musk's company seeking a valuation ofroughly $1.8 trillion in its initial public offering, those early bets are poised to generate some of the largest paper gains in venture capital history.

Among the biggest beneficiaries are veteran stock picker Ron Baron, Cathie Wood's Ark Invest and mutual fund giant Fidelity Investments. Also poised to win are venture firms including Founders Fund, Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz as well as hedge funds such as D1 Capital Partners and Coatue Management. Select pension funds and endowments are also set to share in the windfall.
The gains are striking for investors who backed SpaceX before its success became obvious. Baron first invested in 2017 through employee tender offers when the company was valued at less than $22 billion and has since participated in 27 funding rounds.

3 things that could derail SpaceX stock after its red-hot IPO
Less than a week after its historic debut, one analyst says the next move forSpaceX stockis likely down.
Paul Meeks, a managing director and head of technology research at Freedom Capital Markets, said he was among the skeptics ofSpaceX's recent IPO, which saw the stock soar amid major hype from retail investors. Shares of Elon Musk's rocket company, which were initially priced at $135, jumped as high as $218 this week, up 61%.
But that level might mark the peak for a while, with warning signs that a larger decline may already be in motion, Meeks says.SpaceX sharestumbled as much as 3% on Wednesday.
He estimated that thefair value for the stockis about a third of where shares were trading on Wednesday, implying a decline to $63 a share, he told Business Insider in an interview, a drop of nearly 70%.
"I would think that we've seen the top," Meeks said, though he noted it was hard to tell due to the extreme speculative hype surrounding SpaceX. "We're investing in the Elon Musk cult."

SpaceX IPO: Here's What a $5,000 Investment Could Look Like in 5 Years
What could be the biggest initial public offering (IPO) in history is just around the corner. On June 12, shares of SpaceX -- trading under the ticker SPCX -- will hit public markets, finally giving retail investors a chance to own Elon Musk's space and technology behemoth.
The company is hoping to raise a whopping $75 billion. If it does, it will eclipse the record $29.4 billion raised in the 2019 listing ofSaudi Arabian Oil, or Saudi Aramco. And if all goes according to plan, SpaceX will carry a market capitalization that places it among the top 10most valuable companies on the planet-- $1.8 trillion. It will also make it bigger thanTesla, which is also led by Musk.
To say there's a lot of buzz surrounding the SpaceX IPO would be quite an understatement. So, if you're able to get your hands on $5,000 inSpaceX stockon day one, what might that investment look like in five years?

One of Tesla’s most ardent bulls believes that Elon Musk’s Starlink has a lot of innate potential, so much so that the satellite internet service may churn over $20 billion of cash flow annually. To get to this point, however, Starlink would first have to survive its early years, which would likely be extremely challenging.
In a recent note, ARK Invest, a firm that was closest in predicting TSLA stock’s wild rise last year, stated that it believes Starlink’s cash flows would be negative
for the first eight years
. This, according to the firm, would be due to the high cost of launching the satellites into space. Elon Musk’s SpaceX manages these expenses to some degree by launching batches of Starlink satellites in reused rockets, but the costs remain substantial.
ARK Invest stated that
according to its research
, Starlink’s satellites would likely be de-orbited every five years on average. This should allow the constellation to scale up to a …

SpaceX is public: Everything you need to know post-IPO
SpaceX has captured the attention of media, investors, and the public for years now — interest propelled by the company’s reusable rocket launches and the rise of its Starlink satellite network, and, of course, for its founder and CEO Elon Musk.
But in its 24-year history, nothing quite compared to its initial public offering. Everyone seemed interested — perhaps because of the sheer size of the IPO. The company priced its 555.6 million shares at $135 each to raise $75 billion, making it the largest IPO in history and turning Musk into theworld’s first trillionaire. That total raised figure would end up ballooning to $85.7 billion raised.

SpaceX just announced the pricing of its initial public offering (IPO) shares at $135, and there's a lot of investor excitement building ahead of

But that price means the company and its CEO,
