Negotiations between the Pentagon and the
AI company Anthropic
were severely complicated on Friday when President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that the government would stop utilizing the company’s tech. The president ordered the Pentagon to begin a six-month phase-out, accusing Anthropic of being run by "Leftwing nut jobs."
The
Truth Social post
said that Anthropic wanted the government to abide by its terms of service.
"THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WILL NEVER ALLOW A RADICAL LEFT, WOKE COMPANY TO DICTATE HOW OUR GREAT MILITARY FIGHTS AND WINS WARS!,” Trump wrote. “That decision belongs to YOUR COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF, and the tremendous leaders I appoint to run our Military. The Leftwing nut jobs at Anthropic have made a DISASTROUS MISTAKE trying to STRONG-ARM the Department of War, and force them to obey their Terms of Service instead of our Constitution."

US President Donald
Trump
announced
Friday that he was instructing every federal agency to “immediately cease” use of Anthropic’s AI tools. The move comes after
Anthropic
and top officials clashed for weeks over military applications of artificial intelligence.
"The Leftwing nut jobs at Anthropic have made a DISASTROUS MISTAKE trying to STRONG-ARM the Department of War,” Trump said in a post on
Truth Social
.
Trump said that there would be a “six month phase out period” for agencies using Anthropic, which could allow time for further negotiations between the government and the AI startup.
The Pentagon and Anthropic did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Shortly after the President’s announcement, defense secretary Pete Hegseth
said
that Anthropic would also be designated a “supply chain risk,” a move normally reserved for foreign businesses considered a danger to American national security. The designation will bar the US military and its contractors and suppliers from working with the AI company.
Hegseth also lashed out at A…

Washington, DC [US], May 31 (ANI): US President Donald Trump has sparked widespread digital engagement after sharing a highly stylised, AI-generated depiction of himself across social media channels.
The Republican leader took to Truth Social on Saturday to publish the digitally fabricated portrait, which depicts him wearing an elaborate military uniform while pointing directly ahead.
In the background of the dramatic graphic, multiple fighter jets are seen streaking across the sky surrounding his head, while several US-flagged warships are shown cutting through rough seas.

During the summer of 1945, the leaders of the Manhattan Project in Los Alamos, New Mexico, faced a momentous decision. The original motive for developing the atomic bomb—the need to counter a possible German A-bomb—had evaporated in May with the end of the war in Europe, and many atomic scientists were opposed to the use of such a weapon on Japan (then already on the brink of surrender). Nonetheless, top officials at Los Alamos, led by J. Robert Oppenheimer, chose to accelerate work on the bomb, enabling the fateful attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In doing so, they knowingly ignited a global nuclear arms race that persists to this day.
We might think of this deeply consequential decision sequence as an “Oppenheimer moment”—a time when senior officials choose to unleash a powerful and potentially cataclysmic new technology on the world without k…
