WASHINGTON (TNND) —Louisiana GOP Sen. Bill Cassidy on Monday responded to President Donald Trump on X after the president criticized him on TRUTH Social regarding the SAVE America Act.
In a lengthy post on TRUTH Social, Trump laid out theSAVE America legislationwhich states voters have to show photo ID to vote, show proof of citizenship and there can't be any mail-in ballots minus some exceptions.
He went on to slam some Republican senators for not supporting the bill.
Cassidy responded to Trump by saying he is a cosponsor of the latest version of the SAVE America Act.
“Mr. President, I don’t know which version of the SAVE America Act you’re referring to, but I am a cosponsor and support the latest version,” he said. “I don’t know which staffer misled you, but thank you for your attention to this matter!!”
He also slammed Trump for postponing thesigning of the housing billover the SAVE Act.
“Btw, it’s irresponsible to postpone signing the Housing bill due to the SAVE Act,” Cassidy wrote. “We need to start delivering relief to people for the high cost of housing ASAP!!”
