Imphal, June 15:Fresh violence erupted on Monday between the neighbouring villages of Konsakhul, inhabited predominantly by members of theNaga community, and Leilon Vaiphei, a Kuki village, triggering renewed tensions in the area.
Reports indicated heavy and sustained gunfire between the two villages inKangpokpidistrict, leaving at least three people injured.
The injured, all Kuki youths, were initially taken to Leimakhong before being shifted to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal for treatment.
