The new buyer of a foreclosed property in Burlington found three skeletons inside. It is still unknown how long the individuals have been deceased for as well as their identities.
An investigation is underway after the skeletal remains of three people were found inside of a home in Burlington over the weekend, according to state police.
Troopers responded to a home on Stanwich Lane on Sunday around 4:45 p.m. for a report of human remains inside.

According to state police, the new homebuyer, who purchased the home "as is" at a foreclosure auction, found the skeletal remains of three people at the home.

A new homeowner in Burlington,Connecticut, reportedly discovered the skeletal remains of three people inside a house purchased “as is” at a foreclosure auction earlier this month. According to Connecticut State Police, cited byCT Insider, the resident called 911 on Sunday after finding the remains inside the home on Stanwich Lane.
Brobiblereported that the four-bedroom house was built in 2002 and sits on more than two acres. At the time of the purchase, the property was reportedly overgrown with dense grass, weeds, and plants. Town records showPaulandSally AnneCash paid more than $800,000 for the home in 2019.
Court records indicate that foreclosure proceedings on the property began on August 1, 2025, and the owners had apparently been notified by their mortgage servicer that the property was in default, which initiated the foreclosure process.

the new owner called 911 around 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, to report what they had found. The Burlington, Connecticut, home was purchased "as is" on June 6, according to Connecticut State Police.
While the state's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is trying to determine whose remains are in the house and what caused their death, investigators are searching for the former homeowners.
The home was purchased by Paul and Sally Anne Cash in September 2019 for over half a million dollars. Town records show the couple took out a $385,000 mortgage on the property, but it is unclear when.
After they defaulted on their $3,225 mortgage payments in December 2024 and January 2025, a foreclosure was initiated against the Cashes in early 2025.

A new owner who bought a Connecticut home as is at a foreclosure auction discovered skeletal remains inside the property, according to state police and local reports.

reported the discovery in Burlington, where authorities responded to a home on Stanwich Lane after human remains were found inside the structure.
WFSB reported that Connecticut State Police said the new homeowner had purchased the home as is during a foreclosure auction and then discovered the skeletal remains of three people.
