FourPalestineAction protesters who smashed their way into an Israeli-linked weapons factory carried out 'an act of terrorism', a judge ruled as he jailed the quartet today.
In a landmark case, Mr Justice Johnson said the raid on Elbit Systems in Bristol was an attempt to 'shut down' the company or influence theUK Governmentinto blocking its operations.
Two of the defendants wept as the judge ruled they would be sentenced for carrying out an 'act of terrorism' - something the group and their supporters opposed given they were convicted of criminal damage and not terror offences.
The court heard the factory was targeted due to its weapons and technology being used in Gaza.
But the wanton violence caused £1.2 million worth of damage, left a police officer with a fractured back, and saw the Government subsequently define Palestine Action as a banned organisation.
Samuel Corner, a 23-year-old former Oxford student, was convicted of criminal damage along with three others, and was also fo…

Palestine Action activists jailed over Elbit factory raid
Four Palestine Action activists who mounted a “terrorist” raid on an Israel-based defence firm’s UK factory, causing £1.2 million of damage and leaving a police officer with a fractured spine, have been jailed.
Charlotte Head, 30, Samuel Corner, 23, Leona Kamio, 30, and Fatema Rajwani, 21, were in an old prison van which crashed into the Elbit Systems site near Bristol in the early hours of August 6, 2024.
The activists, all wearing red boilersuits, used sledgehammers and crowbars to destroy computers, drones and other equipment before police and security intervened.
Corner, a former student at Oxford, struck police officer Kate Evans twice on the back with a seven-pound sledgehammer, leaving her with a fractured spine.
At Woolwich Crown Court on Friday, Mr Justice Johnson jailed Corner for seven years and eight months, telling him he had used “extreme and gratuitous force against a vulnerable police officer acting in the course of her duties”.
Head, who drove the prison van into the compound, was sentenced to five years in prison, while Kamio was also handed a five-year jail term, and Rajwani received a prison sentenc…

Seventy-two people have been arrested for supporting
the proscribed terror group Palestine Action
at a demonstration outside Woolwich Crown Court.
Four activists are being
sentenced at the London court on Friday
for a raid on an Israel-based defence firm’s UK factory.
Police vans arrived outside the court to ferry demonstrators away after the first person was arrested around 1.20pm.
Members of the crowd applauded, while others berated the officers, as each protester was carried away.
Some of the chants included “you’re complicit in genocide” and “Met police, shame, shame, all the crimes in your name”.
The protesters could also be heard banging drums and chanting through megaphones, with Palestine flags being waved.

The defendants were not permitted to tell the jury about the Palestine connection to their actions, or mention the genocide in Gaza. And their prison sentences will be longer than white supremacists convicted in recent years.
