Flipper Devices, the company behind the popular Flipper Zero, has launched an open-source productivity tool called Busy Bar, designed to help reduce distractions for people with ADHD.
People who have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can have trouble focusing, get easily distracted and disorganized, act impulsively, and often suffer from restlessness.
BUSY Bar is designed to relieve those symptoms by eliminating distractions as much as possible while also helping those with ADHD function through timed bursts of productivity.
It features an LED display, fidget buttons, and a Pomodoro timer, and can be synced with the BUSY app for iOS and Android to mute notifications and control smart home devices to optimize working environments.
When set on 'BUSY Mode,' the device adjusts settings for calls, live streaming, or other programs to display a personalized busy message along with a countdown timer. Notifications across all connected devices are silenced automatically to avoid disrupting the user wh…

London-basedFlipper Devicesis known for itsFlipper Zero gadget, used by hackers and tinkerers to access different radios with Bluetooth, RFID, NFC, and a sub-1GHz transceiver. The company today took a different direction and launched a productivity-focused gadget called Busy Bar, which helps you set timers, block apps, and display custom messages and widgets on an LED display.
Flipper Devices announced the device last year, and now it is putting it on open sale next month. The Busy Bar looks like a table clock with many knobs and buttons. On the front, it has a 72×16 LED matrix display with up to 400 nits of brightness, support for 16 million colors, and a sensor to adjust brightness automatically.
On the back, there is a monochrome screen to display status, timer, battery, and connectivity indicators. This lets you look at information if the screen is facing the other side. What’s more, there is a sma…

The Busy Bar is a $249 device that does more than inform your boss ...
The Busy Bar is the latest product from Flipper Devices, the creators of the multi-tool device,Flipper Zero. Described as “a productivity multi-tool device”, Busy Bar is a dual-display device that shows when a user is busy. While that greatly simplifies it, the device is actually feature-packed.
Right out of the box, the Busy Bar can be turned on to display a status that says “Busy”. Users can also choose to let it display a timer, using the scroll wheel, to show how long they are busy. There's also the option to display a custom message or connect it to your phone or computer. When connected to a computer, the Busy Bar will automatically display an “On Call” status once your computer's microphone or camera is active.
It can also display info from apps and computer programs such as the clock and weather apps; orstats from YouTubeandInstagram. Busy Bar has a companion app for Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS that users can download. When connected to a phone or PC, Busy Bar can automatically mute notifications when busy mode is activated. There's even the option to block apps, preventing distractions until the…

Busy Bar: Productivity gadget from inventor of the Flipper Zero appears ...
The security multi-tool Flipper Zero became a cult gadget, not least because of its innovative design at the time. Now inventor Pavel Zhovner is launching a new helper: The Busy Bar is intended to help digital workers curb external disturbances through clear signals. Similar to the Flipper Zero, the device is expandable and can be paired with many Smart Home ecosystems.
The Busy Bar is a plastic box measuring 17×6×4 cm, dominated on the front by a 6.35-inch (approx. 16 cm) LED display with a resolution of 72×16 pixels. Its core function is simple: at the press of a button, the name-giving inscription “Busy” appears in pixelated letters on the display. To indicate the duration of the occupation to colleagues or family members, this can be set using a rotary knob.
This function is mainly intended for open-plan offices and is designed to support workers in “deep focus,” i.e., deep concentration. They clip the Busy Bar onto their monitor – with the large display facing colleagues. A smaller monochrome display shows the concentrating worker the remaining time and the current status. Inventor Pavel Zhovner: “W…
