Former Managing Director, Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited, SNEPCo, Elohor Aiboni, currently on assignment as Asset Director at Brunei Shell Petroleum, has been named Executive Vice President and Country Chair Nigeria, taking over from Marno de Jong, who leaves Shell to pursue an opportunity elsewhere, after a 34-year career with the Company.
Marno was appointed Senior Vice President Nigeria in 2020 and later became Executive Vice President in addition to the role of Country Chair, overseeing all Shell’s operations in Nigeria.

Shell has appointed former Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), Elohor Aiboni, as Executive Vice President and Country Chair Nigeria, making her the first Nigerian to occupy the combined leadership position in the company’s history.

Shell Plc says it has appointed Elohor Aiboni as executive vice president (EVP) and country chair for Nigeria, making her the first Nigerian to hold the combined position.
The oil company in a statement on Thursday said the appointment takes effect from August 1, 2026.
Aiboni succeeds Marno de Jong, who is stepping down after more than six years leading Shell’s operations in Nigeria.
Before her appointment, Aiboniservedas managing director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo), becoming the first woman to occupy the position in 2021.
