Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia amounted to US$4.92 billion in 2025, up 2.5% compared to the previous year, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC) has stated. Trade operations with Russia accounted for 9.96% of the country’s total foreign trade turnover, the SCC said. Russia is Azerbaijan’s third largest foreign trade partner after Italy and Turkiye.
Exports of Azerbaijani products to Russia amounted to US$1.184 billion in 2025 (+0.5%). Overall, supplies to Russia accounted for 4.73% of Azerbaijani exports. Russia is also the largest buyer of Azerbaijani non-oil products. Azerbaijan’s supplies to Russia last year amounted to $1.174 billion (+1%), with a share of 32.37%. Russia ranks third among the countries to which Azerbaijani products are exported.
Azerbaijan imported goods from Russia worth US$3.736 billion in 2025, up 3.2%, with Russian supplies accounting for 15.33% of total imports. In January–February 2026, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and
Russia amounted to $499.979 million,

reports citing the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
This represents a sharp decline of $497.962 million (49.9%)
compared to the same period last year.
During the reporting period, Russia accounted for 7.98% of
Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade turnover, ranking 4th among its
largest trading partners.
Azerbaijan’s exports to Russia reached $157.763 million, marking
an increase of $6.895 million (4.6%) year-on-year. Russia ranked
4th among Azerbaijan’s export destinations.
In contrast, imports from Russia dropped significantly. The
value of goods exported from Russia to Azerbaijan totaled $342.216
million, down by $504.857 million (59.6%) compared to the same
period last year. Russia still ranked 3rd among Azerbaijan’s import
partners.
Overall, Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade turnover in

The volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia totaled $1 billion 41 million 549.98 thousand in January–April 2026, marking a 1.8-fold decrease compared to the same period in 2025.
According to data from the State Customs Committee, as reported byCaliber.Az, Russia accounted for 5.98% of Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover during the reporting period. This placed Russia fifth among Azerbaijan’s largest trading partners, compared to third place and a 10.78% share a year earlier.
Statistical data show that Azerbaijan’s exports to Russia declined by 1.3% year-on-year, amounting to $318 million 817.54 thousand. The share of exports to Russia stood at 2.68%, down from 3.68% in January–April 2025.
At the same time, imports from Russia saw a sharper decline, falling by 2.1 times to $722 million 732.44 thousand. The share of imports from Russia accounted for 13.08% of total imports, compared to 18.45% in the same period last year.

Russia is Azerbaijan's third-largest trade partner, following Italy and Türkiye, and accounts for 10.01% of Azerbaijan's total foreign trade turnover during this period.
In 2023, trade turnover between the two nations grew by 17.5%, reaching $4.358 billion, with Russia's share in Azerbaijan's foreign trade standing at 8.52%.

of wheat and meslin were imported from Russia. Additionally, 369.7
thousand tons of natural and associated gases, 274.6 thousand tons
of oil and oil products, 47.8 thousand tons of carbon steel rods
without further processing, and 47.8 thousand tons of glass
bottles, containers, and other receptacles were imported from
Russia.
