Detectives learned the abuse began in 2022, when Garcia moved into the same house as the child. The abuse happened in secret, according to prosecutors, and wa…

BROWNFIELD, Texas (KCBD) - A Brownfield man was sentenced to 50 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting two children, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas announced.
40-year-old Pedro Marcos Hinojosa was sentenced June 10 to 600 months by U.S. District Judge James Wesley Hendrix after pleading guilty to producing child pornography and possessing child pornography involving a prepubescent minor, prosecutors said. Court documents say a woman reported in September 2025 that she saw nude photos of a 9-year-old girl on Hinojosa’s cellphone. The child later told investigators Hinojosa had sexually abused her and taken sexually explicit photos of her multiple times starting when she was 8, according to prosecutors.
Authorities located Hinojosa on Sept. 12, 2025, at a homeless shelter in Lubbock, where he tried to flee before being taken into custody, court documents say. Hinojosa admitted producing child sexual abuse material, and investigators found photos and vide…

Annapolis, Maryland –
Following a three-day trial, an Anne Arundel County jury on Tuesday found a Glen Burnie man guilty of sexually abusing a household member for several months when the victim was just 8 years old, State's Attorney Anne Colt Leitess announced.
After one day of deliberation, the jury found Leonel Esquivel-Grijalva, 35, guilty of thirteen counts, including Second-Degree Rape, three counts of Sex Abuse of a Minor, and multiple counts of sexual assault.
Upon the verdict, Circuit Court Judge Alison Asti revoked Esquivel-Grijalva's bond and he was taken into custody. Sentencing is scheduled for May 15, 2024.
"The defendant intimidated a child in his household and subjected her to months of sexual assault and abuse, which did not stop until he moved out of the residence," Leitess said. "It took years for the victim, now a teenager, to gather the courage to come forward and report these crimes. I commend her for her bravery that brings justice for her and prevents this man from victimizing others."
On March 29, 2022, the Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services received a report that a 15-year-…

MANCHESTER, N.H. — One of the first men charged with abusing children at New Hampshire’s state-run youth detention center was acquitted of three sexual assault charges Wednesday by a jury that was unable to reach a verdict on five other charges.
Stephen Murphy, 56, of Danvers, Massachusetts, was one of two former Youth Development Center workers charged in 2019 with assaulting a teenage boy at the Manchester facility in the 1990s. The ensuing scandal has expanded to include an unprecedented criminal investigation, nine additional arrests, over 1,100 lawsuits, and the establishment of a settlement fund to compensate victims.
It was the second trial for Murphy. His first, involving another alleged victim, ended in a mistrial in January. He still faces charges related to two other former residents of the facility, now ca…
