The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says 16 ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected to arrive at Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports in Lagos.
NPA in its Daily Shipping Position, on Tuesday said that the expected vessels would arrive from Oct. 27 to Oct. 29.
It said that six of the expected ships contained crude oil, five ships were laden with aviation fuel while the remaining five contained gasoline, diesel, gas oil, and containers of different products.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the document noted that two ships had arrived at the ports, waiting to berth with general cargo and bulk.

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has said that 36 ships with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected at Apapa, Lekki Deep Sea Port and Tincan Island port in Lagos.
The NPA said in its Daily Shipping Position that the vessels are expected between May 5 and May 10.
It added that 15 of the expected ships contain containers of different goods, while 21 ships to berth with fresh fish, general cargos, aviation fuel, bulk wheat base oil, diesel, gasoline, petrol and crude oil.
The authority noted that 11 ships and tanker vessels had arrived at the three ports, waiting to berth with containers, bulk urea, petrol, fuel oil, gasoline, bulk fertilizer and bulk gas.
According to the NPA, 24 ships are presently discharging bulk urea, containers, petrol, bulk fertilizer, trucks, fresh fish, bulk wheat, aviation fuel and diesel at Lekki Deep Sea Port, Apapa and Tincan Island port.

The Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, has announced that 33 vessels carrying petroleum products, food supplies and other commodities are scheduled to arrive at Lagos ports within the week.
In its Daily Shipping Position, the authority disclosed that the vessels are expected between March 2 and March 8 at the Apapa Port, Tin Can Island Port and the Lekki Deep Sea Port.
According to the shipping schedule, 16 of the incoming vessels are container ships conveying assorted goods, while the remaining vessels are loaded with commodities such as bulk urea, crude oil, fertiliser, salt, gypsum, sugar and other general cargo.
The NPA further revealed that 11 vessels and tankers have already arrived at the three ports and are currently awaiting berthing.
These ships are conveying aviation fuel, petrol, diesel, alkaline substances and containerised cargo.
The authority noted that 17 vessels are presently discharging cargo at Apapa, Tin Can Island and Lekki ports.
