The National Weather Service’s Pittsburgh office in Moon confirmed two tornadoes touched down Sunday in Western Pennsylvania.
The weather service issued severe thunderstorm warnings and tornado watches and warnings throughout the day Sunday. The storms leftthousands of residents without power. Those numbersdwindledthroughout the day Monday.
As of 6 a.m. Tuesday, outages throughout Allegheny and Westmoreland counties stand in the single digits, according to Duquesne Light and West Penn Poweronline outagetrackers.
Weather service staff conducted storm surveys Monday and determined tornadoes touched down near McCalmont in Jefferson County and near Beaver Falls in Beaver County.
The Jefferson County tornado was rated an EF1, with wind speeds reaching 110 mph, said Meteorologist Chris Leonardi. A rating has not yet been determined for the Beaver County storm.

NWS Confirms Two Tornadoes In Butler Co. - WBUT 1050 AM - Butler, PA
The National Weather Service is now confirming there were two tornadoes that came through Butler County earlier this week.
Not long after the storm rolled through, the National Weather Service was able to confirm a tornado in Center Township near the Unionville Volunteer Fire Department. That twister led to the roof of a salt shed getting ripped off.
Investigators also say there was another tornado in the county, this one in Clay Township. Weather officials say the impact was seen in the area of Mack Road.
Both tornadoes were classified as EF-0.
That now marks nine tornadoes for the Pittsburgh area this year.

The National Weather Service on Tuesday confirmed a tornado touched down in southern Lancaster County on Sunday night.
The tornado touched down south of Kirkwood, according to a public information statement issued by the weather agency. It was part of a
heavy storm that moved through the region.
Three utility poles were snapped off and two others are leaning along Kirkwood Pike (Rt. 472) in Colerain Township on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. An employee at Rainbow Acre Farm, which is near the poles, said they came down during the storm Sunday night. The National Weather Service on Tuesday confirmed a tornado touched down in southern Lancaster County on Sunday night.
National Weather Service meteorologist Joe Bauco said a team from the weather agency assessed damage on Tuesday and the tornado would probably be graded an EF-1. He said more information would likely be released later Tuesday or Wednesday.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has confirmed that two tornadoes ripped through Venango County on Sunday night.
One tornado - with winds between 65 to 70 mph - touched down in Cherrytree Township, along Pioneer Road and Shreve Road; another - with winds between 75 to 80 mph - touched down in Oakland Township, from along Bowman Road to Baker Road.
On Tuesday, weather service meteorologist Matthew Kramar, who was in the area on Monday to survey damage with the Venango County Emergency Management Agency, said each twister was an EF-0 tornado, which carries winds between 65 to 85 mph.
According to both Kramar and EMA Director Tim Dunkle, storm damage was mostly confined to trees and power lines.
On Tuesday, Dunkle indicated he had yet to receive a report on the weather service's findings, but said Kramar had surmised Monday that tornadic activity would likely be the conclusion.

A National Weather Service survey crew has confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down in Carroll County during the severe storms over the weekend.
According to NWS, the tornado touched down south of Lowell, Georgia, between 10:54 a.m. and 11:01 a.m. on Saturday.
The Enhanced Fujita Scale assigns the tornado a rating based on wind speeds and storm damage. Saturday's tornado had peak winds of near 95 mph, which registered as a 1 on the scale. Officials say the tornado traveled a little more than 1 mile for seven minutes before breaking up.
Carroll County officials report that one home on Staples Dairy Road suffered structural damage, and multiple buildings on Liberty Church Road were destroyed in the storm.

BUTLER COUNTY, Pa. — Strong storms on Sunday spurred two tornadoes in Butler County, the National Weather Service says.
During a survey on Tuesday, NWS officials confirmed that one tornado was near the western portion of the north shore of Moraine State Park. It was rated as an EF1.
The other tornado, rated an EF0, was along Muddy Creek Drive near the intersection with Route 8.
No other information was immediately available about the tornadoes.
With this update, the NWS has determined the storms caused three tornadoes in the region. On Monday, officials said
there was a tornado in Beaver County
, by State Line Road and Cannelton Road.
Within two weeks, nine tornadoes have damaged communities across Western Pennsylvania.
