According to the family, the deceased child, identified as Ali Haider , was a resident of Bahawalnagar and was studying at a madrassa in Lahore . The family alleged that Qari Ghulam Rasool subjected the child to severe torture after he failed to attend Khatam Sharif. They said Ali Haider remained in critical condition for eight days before passing away. The relatives further claimed that when the child’s condition became serious, the Qari placed him on a bus and informed his father. His parents took him to their native town in Bahawalnagar and continued treating him privately without informing law enforcement agencies.</p> <p>Police said the child later succumbed to his injuries.
