Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan recently announced that his Jana Sena Party (JSP) would contest the 2028 Telangana assembly elections, triggering considerable political debate across the two Telugu-speaking states. At first glance, the actor-politician’s declaration appears to be a routine expression of electoral ambition. However, leaders in Telangana, particularly from the Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) have questioned both the timing and implications of his remarks. The ensuing war of words has brought to the surface unresolved political and emotional fault lines that continue to influence public discourse more than a decade after the creation of Telangana through the bifurca…

Pawan Kalyan Says He Shares Deep Bond with Telangana, Warns Against Threats
Hyderabad:Jana Sena Party chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday said he shares a deep emotional bond with Telangana, asserting that his connection with the state goes beyond politics.
Addressing a media conference at his residence in Jubilee Hills, Pawan Kalyan said Telangana people have supported him on several occasions and dismissed recent threats directed at him.
“Who are you to threaten me? Telangana does not belong to anyone’s jagir. I will not be intimidated,” he said, adding that he has faced more threats in Andhra Pradesh than in Telangana.
He clarified that he is not opposed to Telangana but had earlier objected to the manner in which the state was bifurcated. Emphasising his commitment to a “social Telangana,” he said he has always worked for the welfare of the people.
Pawan Kalyan also announced that Jana Sena will actively expand its presence in Telangana and contest elections in the state. “We will strengthen the party here and, if necessary, I will personally tour Telangana,” he said.

Pawan's Remarks Reignite Telangana Sentiment Firestorm
Pawan's Remarks Reignite Telangana Sentiment Firestorm
Telangana sentiment is suddenly back at the centre stage of the state’s politics with Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s comments stirring a row, drawing widespread condemnation from political parties and Telangana activists.
The Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader’s press conference in Hyderabad on Wednesday was intended to clear the air after his party was denied permission to hold a public meeting earlier in the day to mark Telangana Formation Day and the demand by a Telangana Minister to apologise for his previous comments allegedly insulting Telangana.
However, some of the remarks made the actor-politician appear to have added fuel to the fire.
Pawan Kalyan drew the ire of many with his reported remark that ‘regionalism is worse than terrorism’ and that “if the issue is not addressed, tomorrow they may refuse to sing ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Jana Gana Mana'”.
The actor-politician is also facing the backlash for his angry retort to his critics in Telangana that Telangana is not ‘jagir (fiefdom) of their father’.
Barring BJP, an ally of Jana Sena, all the parties hit out at the Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh for his comm…

No Restrictions on Pawan Kalyan in Telangana: Revanth - Great Andhra
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday made it clear that there were absolutely no restrictions on Jana Sena Party chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan visiting Telangana and holding public meetings in the state.
During an informal interaction with reporters in New Delhi, Revanth Reddy said the police had denied permission for Pawan Kalyan’s public meeting on June 2, Telangana Formation Day, only to prevent possible law-and-order problems following an exchange of words between Jana Sena leaders and Telangana groups.
Revanth Reddy stated that he had no personal or political differences with Pawan Kalyan and emphasised that Telangana remained open to all political parties and leaders.
“Anyone is free to do politics in Telangana. Pawan Kalyan enjoys complete freedom in the state and can pursue political activities as he wishes,” the Chief Minister said.
He reiterated that every political leader, including Pawan Kalyan, had the right to contest elections and undertake political activities in Telangana.
Clarifying the government’s position on the June 2 rally, Revanth Reddy said the …

Pawan Kalyan Turns Telangana Challenge Into a Political Statement
Sometimes in politics, opponents end up creating the very momentum they are trying to stop.
The issue began as a dispute over permission for Jana Sena’s Telangana NavaNirmana Sankalpa Sabha, eventually turned into a major political moment for Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan.
If the meeting at Gachibowli had gone ahead as planned, it would likely have remained a routine party event attended largely by Jana Sena supporters. Instead, the denial of permission transformed it into a statewide political issue. By the time Pawan Kalyan addressed the media from his Jubilee Hills residence, the public of two Telugu states were curious and started watching.
Pawan Kalyan made it clear that he had never spoken against Telangana or its people. He reminded critics that Jana Sena itself was born in Hyderabad and that its association with Telangana did not begin yesterday. He reiterated that his objections in the past were related to the manner in which Andhra Pradesh was divided and not to the existence of Telangana as a separate…
